Week 10

1. Thou shault not be arrogant
2. Thou shault not be boring
3. Thou shalt not be confusing
I love these commandments!

The key messages in this weeks reading highlighted just how important it is to deliver messages and communicate information in an effective manner. It acknowledged how vital it is to know why you are communicating such information- what is you intention, and also to know who you are communicating the information to- To know your audience.

This week’s reading could be applied to my group work- in particularly to the presentation component of our assignment. I found the reading to be practical and realistic. They consisted of simple aspects that PR practitioners, or us as PR practitioners in the making could refer to when conducting presentations.

The readings stressed the importance of having a clear beginning, middle and an end. The Wyeth reading in particular made me reconsider the use of power point in presentations, as it focused on the repercussions power point can cause. However, I do feel that power point could be an important component in our presentation; the Wyeth reading, however, just showed us what to avoid.

Good work on the blog, shame about getting behind with the deadline but overall good level of engagement.
