week 7

Was the Tymson & Lazar reading a good investment or what!
The key messages within week 7’s reading were the emphasis and exploration into the crucial steps that are involved in embarking on a PR program.
All stages are just as important as the next and all require thorough attention. This text highlights just how vital each stage is in the production of an overall plan, and what is required at each important stage.

The key points in the reading are particularly important to our group’s current task- Preparing a PR plan for Wine Country Tourism.
We have all continually combined together to brainstorm and briefly discuss each stage of our plan. However, this text, along with the Johnston and Zawawi reading, have acted as a guide to our individual tasks and further supported us in what we need to address in our allocated stages.

The weeks reading made me think more about PR theory and practise, as it emphasised the importance of a PR practitioner’s role in the management and operation of a company. It also addressed the extent of preparation and effort that a PR practitioner puts into a campaign and for the over all company.

This effort we talk of is how this week’s reading relates to previous readings in past weeks. Each reading every week further addresses and stresses the important role a pr practitioner holds; how vital their role is in the operation of a business.
A reoccurring theme in each weeks reading is also the two-way communication and relationship issues. How important it is for communication and how vital it is for all members and staff to be aware of their company’s overall strategy, objectives and goals.
